Dear Prayer Partners,
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Thankfully, our lives are filled with new beginnings. And in each of those, we are assured they are attended by a renewed measure of the Lord’s love and gracious activity on our behalf.
We begin a new semester of the school year in just a few days. That means new courses and new responsibilities, but this year it also means the addition of three new students. These will be jumping in with our first-year students. Pray they will make a quick adjustment.
Pray that the study of truth will bring students to a deep experience of love for and faith in the Lord Himself. He is the truth of which they study.
Winter is a key time for recruiting students by broadening our efforts to make known the opportunities available at EI. Pray that the Lord would prosper these endeavors.
I am not sure about other regions, but Greenville is experiencing a heavy dose of both respiratory and intestinal viruses this year. Several staff members have been sick. Please pray for us to be kept from disruption due to illness.
Finally, I would ask prayer for myself. On the final day of the year, I developed a severe headache along with double vision. Consequently, Pam and I welcomed in the new year in the emergency room. Eventually I was diagnosed with a rare and complex condition known as Meckel’s Cave Cephalocele. As a result, the nerve which controls eye movement has been affected to the point where my eye no longer functions properly. The situation can only be remedied by surgery. At this point, due to the rareness of the condition, the details concerning surgery have yet to be determined.
Two prayer requests follow from this situation. First, pray that the neurologist here in Greenville will be led to the right team of doctors capable of performing this surgery. Secondly, pray for the staff as they work around my limitations and the uncertainty of the schedule this coming semester.
Thank you once again for your involvement with us in the Lord’s work at EI. May the Lord refresh you with a consciousness of His unchanging love and powerful mercies.
In Our Lord,
Art Nuernberg
